Designing aligners: Your Invisalign dentist designs your aligners uniquely for you. They record:
- Photographs of your teeth and face
- A digital scan of your teeth using an iTero scanner
- Digital x-rays
These records guide the design of your aligner sets.
Wearing your aligners: Your dentist will give you your first set of aligners. You change into a new set approximately every 2 weeks. Treatment can take 6 to 18 months depending on the problem you are correcting.
Straightening teeth: Invisalign aligners straighten teeth incrementally throughout the treatment period. They deliver a force that puts pressure on your teeth. Your teeth move slightly to match the aligners. Each new set is designed a bit straighter and does the same work. By the end of your treatment, there is a significant change in your teeth alignment.
