His military career took him to various locations, including Germany and Edgewood, MD. During this time, he was selected for training in Comprehensive Dentistry, becoming one of the youngest officers ever chosen for this program. In 1989, Dr. Wineman completed the Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry at Fort Bragg, NC, with honors. His military service included deployment in support of Desert Shield and Desert Storm, where he earned the Bronze Star Medal for his leadership in managing the dental clinic for the largest Iraqi Prisoner of War camp.

Exceptional Leadership and Accomplishments

Dr. Wineman's leadership extended beyond his military service. From 1992 to 2000, he served in various commanding roles, including as Commander of the 523rd Medical Company (Dental Services), the Fort Polk Dental Activity, and the Great Plains Regional Dental Command. His time in leadership was marked by his graduation from the Command and General Staff College and a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Baylor University, where he graduated with highest honors. In 1999, he received the "A" designator from the Surgeon General of the Army, recognizing him as one of the top practitioners in Comprehensive Dentistry.

In the fall of 2000, Dr. Wineman was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. After a distinguished 26.5 years of service, he retired from the US Army on September 30, 2002, and transitioned to civilian practice in Nevada.

Since settling in Henderson in 2004 and starting his practice at the Green Valley location, Dr. Wineman has continued to be a leader in the field of dentistry. His commitment to providing the best dental care in Henderson is reflected in his pursuit of ongoing education. Dr. Wineman exceeds state-mandated continuing education requirements each year and actively seeks courses that enhance his patients' oral health. In 2015, he established a Spear Study Club for general dentists and specialists in the Vegas Valley, further demonstrating his dedication to advancing dental knowledge and practice.

Dr. Wineman is also a Diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry, a distinction held by less than 1% of general dentists. His commitment to excellence ensures that patients at Wineman Dental receive comprehensive and advanced care tailored to their needs. Dr. Wineman's referral network is built on trust, as he refers patients to specialists he personally knows and respects, ensuring they receive the highest quality care.

Leadership and Community Engagement

Dr. Wineman's dedication extends beyond his practice. He has been actively involved in organized dentistry in Nevada, serving as President of the Southern Nevada Dental Society from 2018-2019. He is currently the Vice President of the Nevada Dental Association, a role he will hold from June 2023 to June 2024, and will serve as the Vice President of the Nevada Academy of General Dentistry from June 2024 to June 2026. His involvement in these organizations highlights his commitment to the dental community and his leadership in shaping the future of dentistry in Nevada.

Dr. Wineman volunteers his time to mentor dental students at UNLV School of Dental Medicine and contributes his skills to various charitable organizations, including the Give Kids a Smile Program, Freedom Day USA, and the Tzu Chi Foundation. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Nevada Dental Foundation, working to establish a dental clinic in Tonopah, NV, to provide care to underserved populations.

Personal Interests and Family Life

In his personal time, Dr. Wineman enjoys a variety of activities that reflect his diverse interests. He is an avid fitness enthusiast and can be found working out at Lifetime Fitness in Green Valley. He enjoys following Pittsburgh Steelers games at PT's Pub on Sunridge Heights Parkway, attending local sports events such as Golden Knights and Silver Knights games, and maintaining his CCW proficiency at Green Valley Range. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Wineman obtained FAA Part 107 certification as a UAS pilot, allowing him to fly his DJI drones for inspections and aerial photography.

Dr. Wineman has been married to his college sweetheart, Cheri, since December 1977. The couple has three adult children, five grandsons, and three granddaughters. They enjoy dining out, attending Broadway shows at the Smith Center, enjoying a movie, occasionally playing the penny machines at GVR Casino, and "bumping" into their patients at the Henderson COSTCO and other local venues. Dr. Wineman also finds relaxation in reading action-adventure novels by Lee Childs, Tom Clancy, Clive Cussler, and Vince Flynn and unwinding by the pool in their backyard.
